Coed Forest Garden is undergoing an exciting phase of improving it’s infrastructure and we’re running a bridge building course to create a network of bespoke bridges over our water system.
The course will be run over 2 days and led by Dominic Walpole, Coed’s resident master craftsman, carpenter and furniture maker. (www.dominicwalpole.co.uk)
During the course a variety of traditional carpentry skills and techniques will be covered as each bridge will be uniquely designed and created on site.
Skills covered:
- Use of traditional handtools, including drawknives, axes, chisels, brace and bit
- Basic joinery skills
- Timber selection
- Laying out and marking up
- Green woodworking skills to create decorative and rustic spindles/banisters.
Course fees: sliding scale of £30 – £150. Please pay what you feel you can afford.

The course will be held at Coed Hills Rural Artspace, the course price includes food and camping for 2 days.
The course is limited to 8 places, so please book early to avoid disappointment!
